While perhaps not the most surprising news out of CinemaCon, 20th Century Fox confirmed that Deadpool 2 is on the horizon with the director Tim Miller and star Ryan Reynolds returning, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The irreverent mutant film took the internet — and possible the world — by storm in February after an impression social media push and a willingness on Fox's part to release an R-Rated superhero movie. Reynolds also redeemed himself as Deadpool following a less successful attempt as Deadpool in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. A fact both he and Deadpool gleefully admit to.
It is far too early for any concrete details beyond the confirmation, but in the first film's closing moments, Deadpool himself suggested Cable will appear.
