First Carrie Teaser Is On An Epic Scale

These days, angry telekinetic girls can take out whole swathes of city blocks, by the looks of things. Not just high schools and the immediate surrounding area.

Chloe Moretz is pretty scary, huh? Here's hoping she also elicits our sympathy. The same goes for Julianne Moore, playing her mother, and who you could hear singing in the back of the mix there.

Marketing the film with climactic imagery like this is always a bit of a headscratcher for me. Maybe the film itself will reveal something of where it's heading with flashbacks, maybe not. Maybe there's an assumption that we all know the story – but trust me, today's teens really do not. Either way, this trailer goes a step or two beyond a poster of a girl with blood on her face.
