Hope: Dolby Has Released A New Poster

Dolby has released a new poster for Hope, the new film from writer and director Na Hong-Jin, which premiered earlier this year at the Cannes Film Festival.

Article Summary

  • Dolby has unveiled a new Hope poster as NEON ramps up marketing for Na Hong-Jin’s Cannes-premiering thriller.
  • Hope became an early 2026 must-watch after its CinemaCon footage delivered one of the event’s biggest reactions.
  • NEON recently shared a Hope making-of featurette, with more behind-the-scenes material promised ahead of release.
  • Hope opens in theaters on September 9, 2026, as anticipation builds for one of next month’s standout genre films.

At every CinemaCon, there are usually one or two movies that take the entire room by surprise and elicit such visceral reactions that they immediately shoot to the top of everyone's "must-watch" list for that year. In 2026, one of those films was Whalefall, where they dropped the, uh, consuming scene in the room with zero context or preamble, but the other was the first footage for Hope, which was set to debut the following month at Cannes. It was the perfect teaser trailer that slowly built up the tension and the reveals until the moment it ended, and you were ready to park your butt in the theater until it was released wide in a couple of months.

We're mere weeks away from the release, and NEON is dropping some fun things for us to see. We got a "Making Of" behind-the-scenes featurette earlier this month, and Part 1 promises more behind-the-scenes content for all of us to see. Dolby has also dropped a new poster for Hope. This movie looks like a lot of fun, and between this and Onslaught from A24, the smaller studios are releasing some really promising looking films next month.

Hope: Summary, Cast List, Release Date

In the remote South Korean village of Hope Harbor, police chief Bum-seok (Hwang Jung- min) and officer Sung-ae (Hoyeon) are called to find a mysterious creature that has wreaked havoc on the village. In the nearby forest, a coterie of hunters, including Sung- ki (Zo In-Sung), set out to track the beast and find themselves hunted instead. But all is not as it seems, and perceptions can be misleading. What begins as ignorance plants the seed of disaster, escalating through human conflict into a tragedy of cosmic proportions.

Hope, written and directed by Na Hong-Jin, stars Hwang Jung-min, Zo In-sung, Hoyeon, Taylor Russell, Cameron Britton, with Alicia Vikander and Michael Fassbender. Hope was part of the 2026 Cannes Film Festival and will premiere in theaters on September 9, 2026.
