According to Variety, James McAvoy will be joining Charlize Theron in The Coldest City, to be directed by John Wick co-director David Leitch.
The film, based on the graphic novel by Antony Johnston and Sam Hart, is set in November of 1989, just before the fall of the Berlin Wall. It centers on Theron's Lorraine Broughton, who must find a list of undercover agents — on all sides — working in Berlin after the MI6 agent tasked with bringing the list back from the east of the city is found dead.
Leitch recently announced his intention to direct the film instead of John Wick 2, leaving it in the hands of Wick co-director Chad Stahelski.
Production on The Coldest City is set to begin in November.
