Léa Seydoux Set to Return for Bond 25
It sounds like we'll be getting at least one more familiar face in Bond 25. According to Variety Léa Seydoux is set to return as Madeleine Swann. Seydoux was the primary love interest in the last movie Spectre and at the end of that movie her and Bond went off to start a life together. He left MI6 for her because she said she couldn't go back to this life. So it's going to be interesting to see how they decide to approach that.
Bond 25 has been a troubled production even for a Bond movie. The movie entered pre-production in late 2016 and despite saying during the promo for Spectre that he would rather slit his wrists than do another one, star Daniel Craig said he was interested in returning. It wasn't until August 2017 that Craig announced he would be returning to the role. In March of 2017 Neal Purvis and Robert Wade were hired as co-screenwriters and by March 2018 Danny Boyle has signed on direct bringing with him writing partner John Hodge.
Everything looked ready to go with a production start date of December 2018. However, by August 2018 Boyle and Hodge both left the project. While director Cary Joji Fukunaga was brought on by September 2018, there just wasn't enough time to get everything together for a December start date. The production is now set to start in March of 2019 and the release date has moved from October 2019 to February 14, 2020.
Thus far, Craig and Seydoux are the only two cast members confirmed to return though we can hope the criminally underused supporting cast of Ben Whishaw, Ralph Fiennes, and Naomie Harris make another appearance in the series.
