Paramount Pictures Greenlights New Movies Based on Tom Clancy Characters Starring Michael B. Jordan

It looks like fans of the late Tom Clancy's work will be getting some new movies to watch. Amazon recently released the new Jack Ryan TV show that recieved mostly positive reviews and seemed to prove that there was indeed still an audience for characters based off of Clancy's books. Now, according to Variety, Paramount Pictures has cast Michael B. Jordan as the character John Clark and is set to start in several movies.

Sources say that Paramount will be adapting the titles Rainbow Six and Without Remorse with the latter serving as the origin story for the character and the first one to be produced. Jordan, Akiva Goldsman, Josh Appelbaum, and Andre Nemec will serve as producers and Paramount hasn't announced any writers or directors yet.

Clark, a.k.a. John Terrence Kelly, is an ex-Navy Seal-turned-operations officer for the CIA and would go on to appear in 17 novels starting with 1988's "The Cardinal of the Kremlin." Though mainly seen as a secondary character who helps CIA analysis Jack Ryan with more of the physical elements of any mission, Clark finally stepped into the spotlight with "Without Remorse," which tells his backstory on how he came to work for the CIA.

Clark has appeared as a supporting character two other times. Once played by Willem Dafoe in Clear and Present Danger and again by Liev Schreiber in The Sum of All Fears.

Summary: Under the tutelage of Rocky Balboa, newly crowned light-heavyweight champion Adonis Creed faces off against Viktor Drago, the son of Ivan Drago.

Creed II, directed by Steven Caple Jr., stars Michael B. Jordan, Tessa Thompson, Sylvester Stallone, Dolph Lundgren, and Florian Munteanu. It will be released November 21st.
