While Robert Downey Jr. returns as Tony Stark in May's Captain America: Civil War and (most likely) in 2018's Avengers: Infinity War — Part One, the actor is doubtful the character will ever headline a fourth Iron Man film.
The actor told Entertainment Weekly, "I don't think that's in the cards," when asked about further solo films.
At the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron, Stark appeared to be heading to the retirement teased in Iron Man 3, but Civil War will see him suit up once more when a difference of opinion leads him into opposition against Captain America. It remains to be seen if that conflict will be resolved before Civil War ends or if the rift between Stark and Cap will remain place until Infinity War.
Captain America: Civil War opens on May 5th.
