Rogue One Director And Lucasfilm President Deny Han Solo, Hayden Christensen Rumors

Rumors about Star Wars movies abound like Star Wars action figures. But it seem as the movie closes in on completion, director Gareth Evans and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy are in a place to address some of them.

When asked by Extra TV (via The Playlist and The Independent) about appearances by new Han Solo Alden Ehrenreich and Anakin Skywalker actor Hayden Christensen, they flatly denied the actors will appear. Compare this to the coyer responses to questions about the new film, the first in a series of Star Wars spin-offs, ending ten minutes before the events of the original Star Wars.

While there is always the possibility the Death Star plans will be physically handed off to members of Princess Leia's crew, Kennedy's reference to the film existing in a space outside of the original film certainly syncs up with Darth Vader's own mention of "several transmissions" being intercepted as the film begins.

And now that I think about, the "handoff" rumor may have made the rounds back during the run-up to Revenge of the Sith, with some claiming the final moments would lead directly into the opening of Episode IV.

Meanwhile, it's safe to assume Ehrenreich and Christensen are off the board as far as cameos are concerned, which also makes sense as the first Star Wars spin-off needs to stand on its own. Well, at least as much as a Star Wars spin-off can.
