The conspiracy grows in the latest episode of Marvel's Agent Carter as we learn the name of the group behind everything and more about the early lives of both Peggy Carter and Whitney Frost / Agnes Cully. Here are the important moment from last night's episode:

1 – First important moment has to do with Peggy's past and her brother Michael Carter. We see them very young and playing together and then Peggy being told to be more lady like. We later see her as a young adult about to be married and turning down an offer to do field work for the SOE, a British secret agency. She is already a code breaker but her brother recommended her for the job. He tells her to be who she really is, not the beaten down person who is about to get married. But she goes on with the engagement until word comes that her brother was killed… she then leaves her normal life behind and becomes an agent. This was basically Peggy's origin story.

2 – We also got the origin story of Agnes Cully, who was raised by a mother that basically was a kept woman. Agnes didn't like the man and wanted to focus on science, trying to get into a special school. But eventually her mother gets too old for her friend and he wants them out of the house he's paying for. Agnes is rejected for the school because she's a woman. Her mother tells her to forget all of that, it is her looks not her brains that will get her anywhere in life. Agnes heads to the city to see a movie where a scout sees her and wants to take her to Hollywood, saying she will need to change her name… eventually becoming the famous Whitney Frost.

3 – After following Calvin Chadwick, they realize that his driver Rufus is the one who attacked Peggy the night before. They decide to kidnap him and use a tranquilizer gun. It takes to injections to put him down… and a whack across the head with the butt… but a single dart knocks out Edwin Jarvis. Daniel Sousa finds out what Peggy is up to and is upset. Not that she is committing the crime but that she didn't call him in to help.

4 – Sousa and Carter trick Rufus into talking and find out that the group calls themselves the Council of 9 and record all of their sessions. So the evidence is out there, but before they can get a warrant to go get it… Vernon Masters comes in and shuts them down, auditing the SSR office. This shows just how powerful the Council is… but doesn't dissuade Peggy from her mission.

5 – As the scientist she is, Whitney tries testing her new found powers. She already killed her director. So she starts testing on rats. Each time the scar on her face gets a little bigger. This will obviously be why she starts wearing a mask, but how big the scar gets or exactly what she is doing to those she touches with the zero matter remains to be seen. Also, Jason Wilkes talks about being drawn away. I have a feeling the more she uses the zero matter the stronger the pull will be.

6 – They release Rufus with a wire on him to try and get evidence. He goes to Chadwick's house and confronts him and Whitney. They listen as Whitney ends up using the Zero Matter to kill Rufus but only hearing it they don't know what she did… only that she cleaned up another of Chadwick's messes.

Peggy is doing what she seems to do best, working outside of the system. But this time she has Jarvis, Sousa and a few others to help. The neat thing about these shorter series is that there isn't much filler. Every episode seems to move the story along and next week we will be half way through season two already. And from the preview below it looks like things are going to ramp up even more.
