If you didn't read them, then I wouldn't write them, but here's another story that, basically, lists a series of actors who have been sent scripts – or at least who have agents that have been sent scripts. This time out, the script in question is Steve Kloves' new attempt to adapt Katsuhiro Otomo's Akira.
According to Deadline, Warner Bros. are pretty clear on who they want as Tetsuo, and who they want as Akira.
Here are our possible Tetsuos:
Robert Pattinson, Andrew Garfield and James McAvoy
And our possible Kanedas:
Garrett Hedlund, Michael Fassbender, Chris Pine, Justin Timberlake and Joaquin Phoenix
So, we could end up with an X-Men: First Class rematch, should McAvoy and Fassbender happen to take the roles (which seems pretty unlikely). And it's an odd world where Justin Timberlake and Joaquin Phoenix are being considered for the same role, isn't it?
Especially when that's Kaneda. Jeez. I don't want to get into spoilers, but that guy sure goes through something interesting.
This film is going to need a very interesting director – and I don't mean Albert Hughes – if it's going to keep my attention.
