Netflix's Ozark is staying a little closer to home with the newest addition to the show's cast, tapping Janet McTeer (Marvel's Jessica Jones) to join Jason Bateman (Arrested Development) and Laura Linney (The Big C) as a regular on the second season of the critically-acclaimed dramatic series. The first season was executive produced and directed by Bateman.

Set in the dark and dangerous modern world of drug-money laundering, Ozark introduces us to financial planner Marty Byrde (Bateman), his wife Wendy (Linney) and their family's sudden relocation from their home in the Chicago suburbs to a summer resort community in The Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri. Removed from their familiar city surroundings, the family must adjust to a new and anything-but-ordinary environment…while shadows from Chicago are following close behind.

Reported exclusively to The Hollywood Reporter on Thursday, McTeer is set to play a Chicago-based attorney who has direct links to the cartel. Through her dealings with them, she might end up a potential threat to the Byrdes. Known for her roles in The Honourable Woman and The Woman in Black, the actress will also be joining the cast of Marvel's Jessica Jones as a series regular beginning with the show's second season, also.

A financial adviser drags his family from Chicago to the Missouri Ozarks, where he must launder $500 million in five years to appease a drug boss.

Ozark also stars Julia Garner (Sin City: A Dame To Kill For) as Ruth; Sofia Hublitz(Louie) as Charlotte Byrde; Skylar Gaertner (Daredevil) as Jonah Byrde; Michael Mosley (Hot Pursuit) as Pastor Mason Young; and Kevin L. Johnson (American Made) as Sam Dermody.

Bill Dubuque (The Judge) created the series and serves as executive producing alongside showrunner Chris Mundy (Hell on Wheels) and Bateman. Aggregate is handling production responsibilities, in partnership with Media Rights Capital.
