Amazon Studios is currently working on their Lord of the Rings tv series that may or may not feature characters from across the works of J. R. R. Tolkien. Some of the possible characters have already been brought to life in live action films; like Aragorn Son of Arathorn played by Viggo Mortensen, and Gandalf the Grey/White played by Sir Ian McKellan.
McKellan recently stopped by Graham Norton's BBC 2 Radio show recently, and answered a question about whether or not we may see the Wizard again (specifically, in the Amazon LoTR series).
A question was posed to the distinguished actor about his feelings regarding a possible other actor being chosen to play Gandalf in the new series, to which McKellan responded:
"What do you mean, another Gandalf? I haven't said yes because I haven't been asked. But are you suggesting that someone else is going to play it? Gandalf is over 7000 years old, so I'm not too old [yet]."
Thanks to Digital Spy for alerting us to this.
Would you want to see McKellan in the role again?
