Tarantino Working On A Manson Family Film?
After dear old Quentin Tarantino rage quit the hollywood business after the script for his project Hateful Eight got leaked, it looked like maybe he wouldn't be making any more films. Or at least that's what he said then.
Of course Hateful Eight got made, despite all the chest thumping, collecting another set of lovely golden idolatry statues in the process. Maybe thusly proving that possibly, Tarantino had a bit more to say with his behind the lense voice, even though he's claimed he'll stop his career once he hits 1o films.
The current rumor is that film number 10 may be a flick based around Charlie Manson and the Manson family, which would fit right in the dark and boatload of crazy wheelhouse of his previous projects.
This rumor was first reported by The Hollywood Reporter, and already has a pretty tangible nugget of information that the focal point might just be victim of Charlie and co Sharon Tate, actress and wife of filmmaker Roman Polanski. This seems like a pretty safe bet, considering what Tarantino could do with the subject matter and the right casting.
Speaking of casting, early rumors are circling around THR's mentioned leads, Brad Pitt (who they claim has already been approached for a part) and Jennifer Lawrence. No word on what the parts may be, or even if this is a real possibility.
According to Deadline, this Manson film sounds like a done deal. They also go on to say that Margot Robbie (Suicide Squad, Legend of Tarzan) met with Quintin about the feature, possibly to talk about her playing the doomed aforementioned actress Sharon Tate.
If this project happens, it will become the 14th in a string of motion pictures about the charismatic killer and his followers, and that's not counting tv series. The American obsession with serial killers continues.
We'll keep you updated as any new information about this film becomes available.
