One season is certainly not enough to tell the story of the epic Gene Roddenberry science fiction franchise as the Nacelle Company returns with the second season of The Center Seat II, celebrating 60 years of Star Trek. Returning to host is The Next Generation and Picard star Gates McFadden as she continues to tackle the herculean task of telling the story of pop culture's most enduring space-faring franchise (with respect to Doctor Who) from the cast and crew who lived it, including some friends we've lost along the way.
The Center Seat II: 60 Years of Star Trek: What We Know
Season two chronicles how The Original Series crew, well, three of the cast members, ended up passing the torch to the TNG crew in 1994's Star Trek: Generations as they came off their run in syndication with their four-feature run before it sadly ended with 2002's Nemesis. The docuseries will also chronicle the franchise's return to theaters with J. J. Abrams' soft reboot of Star Trek in 2009, with a new crop of younger actors playing the TOS characters in the Kelvin universe timeline, with TOS original Leonard Nimoy around to pass the torch.
