The Witcher Season 2 Prod Can Resume; Lauren S. Hissrich: Page-Folder?

Fans of Netflix's Henry CavillAnya ChalotraFreya Allan-starrer The Witcher have been waiting for some news on when production on the second season would resume, and now it looks like The Guardian has some exclusive news on that front. The news site is reporting that film and television productions have been given the green light to resume productions after the UK government and health agencies gave the approval to new coronavirus safety rules and guidelines. The go-ahead means that film and television productions could start back up again as soon as July, though when specifically productions will resume will be left to the respective studio. Crafted by the British Film Commission and the British Film Institute, the new initiative will include rules on physical distancing, safety training, and temperature testing. The Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), Public Health England, and the Health and Safety Executive have all signed off on the document.

Meanwhile, series creator and executive producer Lauren S. Hissrich has been spending time getting to know the novels even more than she knew them before (and that was already mind-scaringly impressive), but little did she know the controversy she would create. Does it have something to do with timelines? Maybe some things that are going to be left out of the second season? Nope. It's that she folds down the pages on her book – and writes in the margins, too! Take a look for yourselves, and prepare to be (really not that) horrified:

Netflix's The Witcher season 2 welcomes Kristofer Hivju (Game of Thrones) as Nivellen, Kim Bodnia (Killing Eve) as Vesemir, Yasen Atour (Young Wallender) as Coen, Agnes Bjorn as Vereena, Paul Bullion (Peaky Blinders) as Lambert, Thue Ersted Rasmussen (Fast and Furious 9) as Eskel, Aisha Fabienne Ross (The Danish Girl) as Lydia, and newcomer Mecia Simson as Francesca. Stephen Surjik (Netflix's The Umbrella Academy) has been tapped to direct the season's first two episodes, with Sarah O'Gorman (Cursed) directing the third and fourth episodes, Ed Bazalgette (The Last Kingdom) directing the 5th and 8th episodes, and Geeta Patel (Meet the Patels) will direct the 6th and 7th episodes.

The first season of Netflix's The Witcher also starred MyAnna Buring (Kill List) as Tissaia, Tom Canton (Good Karma Hospital) as Filavandrel, Lilly Cooper (Peterloo) as Murta, Jeremy Crawford (Titans) as Yarpin Zigrin, Eamon Farren (Twin Peaks) as Cahir, Mahesh Jadu (Marco Polo) as Vilgefortz, Terence Maynard (Cursed) as Artorius, Lars Mikkelson (House of Cards) as Stregobor, Mimi Ndiweni (Black Earth Rising) as Fringilla Vigo, Royce Pierreson (Judy) as Istredd, Wilson Radjou-Pujalte (Hunter Street) as Dara, Anna Shaffer (Harry Potter) as Triss Merigold, and Therica Wilson Read (Young Wallender) as Sabrina.
