Image Comics Make Kick-Ass and Hit-Girl #2 and #3 Returnable as Well as #1

Last month we told you that Image Comics were making the Millarworld titles Kick-Ass #1 and Hit-Girl #1 returnable.

The launch of Hit-Girl #1 (to be collected as Hit-Girl in Colombia) has a new ordering incentive. Retailers who order as many of this comic as they did of the new relaunched Kick-Ass #1 also coming out next month, will be able to return any copies they don't sell back to Image Comics.

Well, it looks as if they will be following suit for subsequent issues as well.

For those who match or exceed orders for Kick-Ass #2 and #3 with their orders for Kick-Ass #1, they will get full returnability for those issues.

And equally, for those who match or exceed orders for Hit-Girl #2 and #3 with their orders for Hit-Girl #1, they will get full returnability for those issues.

This kind of promotion is intended to encourage retailers to order more than they conservatively may believe they would sell, to measure the actual in-store demand, which they can then use to judge future orders. Also, for those who bought the first issues and enjoy them not to be disappointed to find subsequent issues out of stock at their local store.
