Amazon Studios' original series productions range from Amy Sherman-Palladino's award-winning The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel to Philip K. Dick's Man in the High Castle.
On the film side, Amazon Studios produces and acquires original movies for theatrical release and early window distribution exclusively for their Amazon Prime members. At the 2017 Academy Awards, Amazon Studios became the first streaming service to win Oscars for Manchester by the Sea.
Bleeding Cool follows Amazon Studios' efforts closely, with their upcoming duo classic fantasy series, Lord of the Rings (based on a young Aragorn), and Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time, you can keep abreast of the latest in news, rumors, and happenings right here.
Within the past few years, there has been a resurgence of anime and animation making our inner child or teen geeks very happy. There is something so nostalgic about them that whenever I see them on screen I get weepy… Even more so now when the world calls for comfort and old friends that made […]
Welcome back to another edition of BCTV Sunday Slices, where I take a look back at the past week in Bleeding Cool's television coverage and select a few articles to highlight and offer some perspective. This week, we have a righteous amount of topics from all four corners of the pop culture landscape. From Saturday […]
The Boys showrunner/EP Eric Kripke and the team behind the Amazon Prime series must have a serious addiction to work. Riding high off the critical and eyeball-success of the series' second season, Kripke's already shared the title of the third season-opener (EP Craig Rosenberg-directed "Payback) and it looks like they're aiming to be back in […]
Though first reported to be in development last year, Amazon Prime is apparently moving forward on its series take on the 1997 box office hit "pop horror" film I Know What You Did Last Summer. Written and executive produced by Sara Goodman (Preacher, Gossip Girl), the series is expected to be a modern take on […]
After wrapping a righteously successful second season, most series would be sitting back, thanking the fans, and looking towards the holidays and not the next season. We can't blame them- and we also know that not every series is Amazon Prime's The Boys. After a season finale that's shifted the powerbases within The Seven as […]
The Boys has positioned itself to be one of the best shows of the last several years. While the first season last year was very well received and did well for Amazon, it was the second season that really cemented the show as something special. While there are plenty of other shows that tackle topical […]
With Amazon Prime's The Boys wrapping up its second season in a pretty explosive, pick-jaw-up-off-the-ground kinda way, it's good to have after-shows like Prime Rewind: The Boys that offer viewers a deeper dive not only into each episode but into the series overall. While we look towards a third-season future with our fingers crossed that […]
One of the things we love about series creators like Ryan Murphy is the way they grow almost their own "private entourage" of acting "players" that they use from project to project (or in the case of American Horror Story, from season to season). Supernatural creator, Timeless co-creator, and The Boys creator Eric Kripke falls […]
When it comes to those who benefitted the most in their careers from their time on The Office, many can point to stars Steve Carell and John Krasinski. One can also make quite the argument for Rainn Wilson, who played Jim's (Krasinski) rival and Michael's (Carell) second-in-command, Dwight Schrute on the long-running NBC comedy. While […]
Look, we're not usually the kinda folks that are constantly needing everything to be tagged as being canon or not, but we're about to discuss Amazon Prime's The Boys so we're making an exception. With the series wrapping up its second season this weekend (we'll avoid spoilers for a few more days), we're already pretty […]
New York Comic Con (NYCC) Metaverse debuted a virtual panel with some stars of the upcoming Amazon original series, Truth Seekers. The panel included one of the creators and a star of the series, Nick Frost, along with his co-stars; Emma D'Arcy who plays Astrid, Samson Kayo who plays Elton, Malcolm McDowell who plays Richard, and Susan Wokoma who plays […]
Heading into this weekend's season finale of Amazon Prime's The Boys, things have gotten explosively bloody, with Homelander (Antony Starr) and Stormfront (Aya Cash) now having their little "nuclear (bomb) family" together… but an unstable Homelander appears to be unraveling even further (if that's possible). Meanwhile, Butcher (Karl Urban) seems pretty chipper like he's a […]
At this year's New York Comic Con-Metaverse, fans of Amazon Prime's The Expanse were the recipients of a righteous amount of good news. Looks like the future of The Belt will be determined on December 16th, when the sci-fi drama returns for a fifth season. And just like it's programming pal The Boys, the episodes […]
After a steady stream of new intel and first-looks at Amazon Prime's upcoming adult animated series adaptation of his and co-creator Cory Walker's Invincible, Robert Kirkman (The Walking Dead) continued keeping his promise to keep fans up-to-date on the project at this year's New York Comic Con-Metaverse on Thursday. Not looking to waste any time, Kirkman […]
Considering what we had been hearing lately from writer Gennifer Hutchison (Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul) and series star Morfydd Clark combined with the series starting to get the production wheels spinning again, we were expecting nothing but good things from Amazon Prime's upcoming The Lord of the Rings prequel series. Well, let's just say this […]
If there was ever an episode in need of a promo to offer us some inkling of where everything's going, it's Amazon Prime's The Boys. The Vought hearing got bloody explosive, and we could not be more literal about our wording if we tried. Homelander (Antony Starr) and Stormfront (Aya Cash) have their little "nuclear […]
So the last time we checked in with The Boys series showrunner and EP Eric Kripke, he was trying to hook us up with some porn. Okay, maybe we should clarify that a bit. In the second season's penultimate episode (!!!) "Butcher, Baker, Candlestick Maker," there's a scene between Lamplighter (Shawn Ashmore) and Hughie (Jack Quaid) […]
When we think about how much adult comics grew in acceptance over the past few decades, one of the IPs we have to thank is Kick-Ass. While there are two films based on the Mark Millar and John Romita Jr comic in 2010 and 2013, there's no reason why it couldn't be explored again on […]
Welcome back to another serving of BCTV Sunday Slices, where I take a look at the past week in BCTV's coverage to offer a thought or two on the topic. Once again, the views expressed here are my own and don't necessarily reflect on the rest of the fine folks at Bleeding Cool. Which is […]
For those of you who haven't seen the penultimate episode of the second season of Amazon Prime's The Boys, we promise to tread carefully and avoid any "MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD!" situations. Suffice it to say that "Butcher, Baker, Candlestick Maker" was a pretty explosive outing that left us scratching our heads over what's next for […]
