Top 500 Most-Ordered Comics and Graphic Novels in October 2019

Here's the big list, the top 500 most-ordered comics and graphic novels through Diamond Comic Distributors in North American comic book stores in September 2019. We already did a little examination with the Top 10 and marketshare and Top 100 but this doubles down.

We will also, in half an hour, be running a chart that combines the DC Comics, Boom and Vault split-covers listed separately in the chart. bringing the top 500 down to the top 485.

By comparing the quantity and dollar ranks we can note that there has been unannounced discounting or over-shipping a number of Marvel titles this month, as it affects the ranking for quantity but not dollars received. The disparity between the two makes it clear.

Ghost Rider #1 shows evidence of discounting or overshipping, placing 8th for orders and only 16th for revenue despite being a $4.99 book.

Savage Avengers #6 as well, with 29th in orders but 68th in revenue, for a $3.99 book. Black Cat #5 placed 51st for orders but 77th for revenue, a noticeable change.

And Strikeforce #3 has some serious overage, placed 68th for orders but 160th for revenue, while Black Panther And The Agents Of Wakanda was 81st in orders but 168th in revenue.

There is also small but noticeable minor nudging on titles such as Captain America, Absolute Carnage spinoffs, Star Wars, Immortal Hulk, Venom, Doctor Doom, Doctor Strange, King Thor, Daredevil, Guardians Of The Galaxy.

And while we are here, let us celebrate The Wicked + The Divine which, with its ninth and final volume, outsold every Marvel collection, and everything from DC Comics save for Doomsday Clock…
