Marvel Comics publishes four Krakoa Vs Orchis books this week: X-Men #30, as you might expect; Cable #1 joins in too; there's Invincible Iron Man #14, which even repeats scenes from X-Men #30 and the oft-forgotten X-Men Infinity Unlimited #122. So where is everyone?
Cable is facing down Stark Sentinels built by Feilong for Orchis to keep control of all.
While Tony Stark has been building big things, courtesy of the Vanaheim Dwarves forges, and a little extra Mysterium. Attack ships from Arakko to Earth.
Cyclops is in Paris awaiting prosecution by Orchis.
A First Nation reservation provides some means of sanctuary from Orchis… or at least it did.
While Cable is approaching Randall's Island and Orchis' base there.
But are Orchis really that far ahead? Tony Stark is trying to play them with the pretend-traitor, Firestar
Instructing Firestar to let Orchis believe that the Arakko-launched attack will be in Australia. Which she does in X-Men #30…
And in Invincible Iron Man #14.
Just with slightly different people in the room each time.
And so the trap is set. But how far are Orchis ahead on this one?
As their plans to wipe out all mutants continue, with mutants unable to fight back. And being… collected.
Unless they can figure out a way to take the entire planet as hostages away from Orchis' trigger fingers.
Even in place that they previously saw as safe.
But there is a wider Marvel Universe at play here.
And a High Evolutionary to tap up. HE was there at the beginning of Krakoa after all.
But its not just the Sinisters, Orchises and High Evolutionaries who are collecting mutant stuff.
There are other players in this world making their move.
But one way or another, war is on the way. That Manhatan Project jibe may be a rather prescient one…
