An Undead Viking Horde In Revolutionary America: Preview The Order Of The Forge #3 From Dark Horse
The Order of the Forge is a wacky comic. I'm actually just getting into it, having a couple of issues in my pull list that I've been catching up on. It mixes the occult with American Revolutionary history, not all that far from the popularity of something like Sleepy Hollow the show, but actually fairly dark and wilder in its appropriation of historical figures, in my opinion. For instance, the main character is a young George Washington. The final issue of the 3-part miniseries arrives on June 24th, so there's still time to catch up.
That's gorgeous cover art by Juan Ferreyra for the concluding issue, to start with. But the series also has conspiracies, action, magic and curses, as written by Victor Gischler with art by Tazio Bettin.
Issue #3 is described thus:
Our heroes finally discover an ancient and secret weapon on a long-forgotten Viking ship, but the wicked Lord Hammond is closing in, intent on seizing this deadly prize! Now Washington must engage in battle on two fronts-with Hammond and an undead Viking horde!
And here's our 6 page preview of the final issue, coming up on June 24th:
