DC Comics Vs. The Vaping Industry
We recently looked at how DC Comics were challenging the trademark registration of a charity raising money for, and awareness of, cerebral palsy, using the nickname of the child who inspired it, Supermanny.
But DC Comics have plenty of trademark registrations they are challenging right now. And, for one reason or another, lots of them seem to revolve around vaping equipment….
First, Bizarro Smoke, for on-line retail store services featuring vaporizers, e-liquids, and handmade glass. And a rather familiar image and name.
Then there's Ravensmoon production for Kryptonite Vapor for "cartomizers, namely, combination electronic cigarette refill cartridges sold empty and atomizers."
And finally the Chinese company Shenzhen Jomo Technology Co for trying to regster the words Dark Knight for "smoking paraphenalia".
Remember guys, if you are going to use DC Comics trademarks on your smoking replacement products, make sure they are properly licensed!
And it wasn't that long ago that that Malboro putting product placement in Superman I and II and paying for Lois Lane to chain smoke through the films.
Maybe Bizarro Smoke should pay some money to the Batman Vs. Superman: Dawn Of Justice guys and make it official.
