GameStop Gooses The Amazing Spider-Man #1 Sales Numbers

gameTomorrow sees the release of Amazing Spider-Man #1. Reports of sales estimates sees orders through the direct market of comic stores as topping 700,000 copies.

We've already published one article about how this large number was achieved through a mixture of incentive tiered covers and increased discounts. There may be some giveaways included in the price as well.

It's a drop in the ocean but 6,000 copies of those came from Gamestop.

I understand that Marvel Comics encouraged the videogame store Gamestop to open a Diamond Comic Distributors account to order their copies of Amazing Spider-Man #1 for promotional purposes alongside the release of the Amazing Spider-Man 2 video game. Regular Gamestop customers can swap points they have earnt for a copy….

Worth it as well. Copies have already sold for up to $200 on eBay.
