The Major Excavations From Today's Dark Days: The Forge #1 SPOILERS
The response to Dark Days: The Forge #1 by Scott Snyder, Jim Lee, James Tynion IV, John Romita Jr, Andy Kubert, Scott Williams, Klaus Janson and Danny Miki has been insanely positive. A few little teasing Dark Days: The Forge #1 spoilers than Bleeding Cool ran this week suggested that might be the way it was going as all sorts of people's ears pricked up, but the midnight release has done very well. Almost enough to make DC Comics regret the metallic covers making the orders for the followup, Dark Days: The Casting due with Diamond before the release of this comic.
We named him as World's Greatest Geologist. Of the World's Greatest Archaeologist. But what did his excavations dig up in Dark Days: Forge after all?
We have had the teased sentience of the Dark Matter of the DC Multiverse. This cosmic attention from Ganthet and the Green Lanterns looks like it refers to that.
The Anti-Monitor tower from Crisis On Infinite Earths and Infinite Crisis has returned, sans the merged Anti-Monitor. And kept by Batman underneath the Fortess Of Solitude. Could the Reborn DC Universe have done away with Infinite Crisis having happened at all?
Well, the Immmortal Men know there's always room for a Crisis or two. And have their own team to uncover the history of the DC Universe.
This also seems to point towards the sentience of Dark Matter as well. Will Batman's investigation/unearthing of such secrets lead to this uncovered future, born of Hawkman's dreams?r
And just as the future is unearthed, so is the past. With Carter Hall revealing the history of Nth Metal and its role in creating Dionysius and Electrum, recently seen in the Batman books. As well as a new history of the Batpeople on Earth.
And we see how this all exhibits itself today, unearthing the truth.
And as Batman sends his team of Outsiders across the Multiverse to see what they can dig up…
And you get a rather familiar and classic team of Batman, Metamorpho. Black Lightning, Katana, Halo and Geoforce – is a new spinoff book due?
It's also time to dig up another… well… Easter Egg.
A proper return for Plastic Man after some false starts in Justice League International and Forever Evil.
While Batman has kept his biggest secret buried deeper than any other.
So… after reading it, or combing through Dark Days: The Forge #1 spoilers, what else did you manage to dig up?
Dark Days: The Forge #1 published by DC Comics today.
