Peter Parker, the Spectacular Spider-Man #6 Rewrites The History Of J Jonah Jameson – And More (SPOILERS)
We mentioned a rumour that this was coming in a previous Bleeding Cool story. But today's Peter Parker, The Spectacular Spider-Man #6 doesn't just rewrite the future of Spider-Man. It rewrites the past.
As Spider-Man and J Jonah Jameson have a sit-down, and then a stand-up argument in which cutlery is flung, webs are spun and insults traded, we learn that J Jonah Jameson was there, always there. His official first appearance was Amazing Spider-Man #1, buying photographs of Spider-Man from Peter Parker, but today we learned he was there one issue earlier in Amazing Fantasy #15, in the live audience watching Spider-Man, The Wrestler…
Which means after the argument, after the fight, after a rewriting of the relationship of characters, taking all that has been before, reinterpreting in a new way, and summing up the very nature of Marvel Legacy, here's the very spoilery reason you may want to pick up the comic to see what comes in the pages after this…
And it's a lot more of a considered reaction from Jameson than the last time this happened a decade ago. Member?
I mean, he was a lot angrier last time. And more fainty.
But to be fair, he still had stuff to throw around the place last time. And a big media empire behind him…
And now that Loki is the current Sorcerer Supreme, there is less opportunity to put things back the way there were, as Dr Strange is now Dr Doolittle. For Marvel Legacy, this looks like the way it will be for Spider-Man and J Jonah Jameson going forward.
