'9-1-1': Ryan Murphy Adds Kenneth Choi, Aisha Hinds & 2 More To Series
The cast of Ryan Murphy's upcoming Fox drama series 9-1-1 continues to grow, adding Oliver Stark (Luther), Aisha Hinds (Underground), Kenneth Choi (Spider-Man: Homecoming), and Rockmond Dunbar (Prison Break) as series regulars. The series pilot is created, written and executive-produced by Murphy and Brad Falchuk. Co-creator Tim Minear is also set to executive produce and serve as showrunner. Bradley Buecker will direct the the series premiere, and also serve as executive producer Alexis Martin Woodall.
"9-1-1" explores the high-pressure experiences of police, paramedics and firefighters who are thrust into the most frightening, shocking and heart-stopping situations. These emergency responders must try to balance saving those who are at their most vulnerable with solving the problems in their own lives.
Hinds was most recently featured in the Fox event series Shots Fired and the cable film All The Way, opposite Bryan Cranston and Anthony Mackie; and received critical acclaim for her portrayal of Harriet Tubman in the drama series Underground. Beyond his role as Benjamin "C-Note" Franklin on Prison Break, Dunbar recently starred opposite Aaron Paul and Michelle Monaghan in the drama series The Path. Stark was most recently seen in AMC's Into The Badlands and in the feature film Underworld: Blood Wars, with Kate Beckinsale.
Choi is no stranger to working with Murphy: the two previous collaborated on The People v. OJ Simpson: American Crime Story, where Choi portrayed Judge Lance Ito. Choi can next bee seen on David Ayer's Bright; Stephanie, with Frank Grillo; Nash Edgerton's Gringo; and Hotel Artemis, with Jodie Foster and Sterling K. Brown. He also stars in the cable television series Counterpart, with J.K. Simmons.
They join previously announced series stars Angela Bassett (who also serves as executive producer), Connie Britton, and Peter Krause. 9-1-1 is produced by 20th Century Fox Television in association with Ryan Murphy Television and Brad Falchuk Teley-Vision.
