'Jerry Before Seinfeld' Trailer: The Comedian Goes Home For Netflix Special
For his first Netflix stand-up special Jerry Before Seinfeld, Jerry Seinfeld is going back home to where his comedy roots first took hold: New York City's The Comic Strip.
As we can see from the new trailer released on Tuesday, the comedian finds himself splitting time between preparing for an intimate stand-up set at the famed comedy club and revisiting the places, people and memories that helped shape him into the comic he would eventually become. The special will also include never-before-seen material that includes family photographs, childhood videos, previously unseen performance footage, and more.
Here's the first trailer for the special, which will premiere September 19th:
"In a special that blends live stand-up with a personal retrospective, Jerry Seinfeld returns to the New York comedy club that launched his career."
The special is part of a deal that Netflix signed with Seinfeld in January 2017 that also included web series Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee moving to the streaming service from Crackle. The agreement also involves another new stand-up special, as well as the development of both scripted and non-scripted comedy programming for Netflix.
