Does Brian Bendis Throw Shade at Zack Snyder's Man Of Steel in Superman #5? (Spoilers)
Remember Zack Snyder's Man Of Steel? Which saw Superman fight the Kryptonian invasion through Metropolis, killing thousands in the process and the very personally, breaking General Zod's neck to stop him killing innocents with his heat vision (rather than, say, putting his hands over Zod's eyes?)
Yeah, course you do. Is it possible that Brian Bendis does as well? From today's Superman #5, we see Superman in the Phantom Zone coming across a resting Rogol Zaar, his new ultimate enemy and the greatest threat to Earth -and all Kryptonians everywhere.
And he is tempted. It is a rather 40 Days In the Desert moment, as Superman considers going all out ballistic on Rogol Zaar, and killing him where he sits.
Only for a vision of his parents that stays his hand. With a lesson from the past that resonates in the future.
And it seems rather pointed towards this. Especially as another figure is hanging around…
Strange bedfellows? Thankfully this Superman never snapped General Zod's neck. Brian Bendis recently write the Man Of Steel that began his run on the character. Could this be a rebuke to the movie that shared its name?
