We've pointed out a number of times the current Captain America run by Ta-Nehisi Coates and Leinil Francis Yu was intended as a Secret Empire sequel but wasn't ready in time. So we got a run by Mark Waid and Chris Samnee intended to heal the reputation of Captain America in the wake of being a Nazi Emperor of the USA.

And now this run unpicks all that good work, rubs salt in the wound and pisses all over it. And no more than this week, as those old wounds are given a right going over, courtesy of Russian influences. And an emphasis that the people of America don't trust Captain America any more. Or America. Or anyone.
