A Christmas Day Tease For the Final Page of Spider-Men II #5 – Out Wednesday
Back in August 2017, Brian Bendis attended London Super Con and told the crowd to watch out for something special. The final page of Spider-Men II #5 by him and Sara Pichelli.
One question was very specific about his decision to revive the Ultimate Peter Parker character in Ultimate Spider-Man after his death, and after Miles Morales had been established as the new Ultimate Spider-Man.
Brian Bendis grinned widely and told us all to wait until the final page of Spider-Man II #5, his current comic-book miniseries sequel to Spider-Men, featuring the 616 Peter Parker and Miles Morales. Something that Marvel isn't going to be heavily promoting or spoiling in the mainstream media, but something he was very happy about.
Then the other day I had a query from a retailer saying that no one seemed to be making a fuss about it. I pointed out that it only comes out this coming Wednesday. He said no, he had had it on sale since last Wednesday.
It seems that a number of stores received the comic book finale early. Just that… no one seems to have posted about it.
So, I suppose I won't either. It is Christmas after all. But just in case someone posts without realising it, if out's something you care about, be warned.
Let's just say that, as Brian Bendis is leaving Marvel Comics for DC, including Miles Morales, the character he created for the Ultimate Universe – which he created as well – he leaves Marvel with a special present, with some final pages written by him, and drawn by original Ultimate Spider-Man Mark Bagley…
Out on Wednesday.
