The Pages Marvel Comics #1000 Had to Switch When They Forgot When the Deadpool Movie Came Out
The first Deadpool movie came out in 2016. But for some reason, when putting together the Marvel Comics #1000 book, where every page corresponds to a certain year, someone at Marvel thought Deadpool came out in 2013. And placed the Deadpool page there.
2013 – DEADPOOL movie is released.
Thankfully someone caught it in time. But so began a game of find-the-lady as page upon page had to be swapped to find a year to justify their placement.
So in the published Marvel Comics #1000 we now have
2016 – DEADPOOL MOVIE IS RELEASED
Where you previously had
2016 – Miles Morales migrates to the core Marvel Universe in SPIDER-MAN #1
That now moved to
2011 – Miles Morales debuts in ULTIMATE FALLOUT #4
Which was originally
2011 – Cable returns to battle the Avengers in AVENGERS: X-SANCTION #1
Which has moved to become
2013 – Cable returns to lead X-Force in CABLE & X-FORCE #1
Which is where we came in. There are some other switches too towards the end.
2018 – Eternity is unshackled by The Ultimates
Was switched to
2019 – The Marvel universe celebrates 80 years of publishing history
So that the original
2019 – The Marvel universe celebrates 80 years of publishing history, entitled 'What Do You Regret?'
was switched to
2017 – Stan Lee appears as The Watcher in GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Vol 2
So that the original
2017 – Silver Surfer lives his life over again in SILVER SURFER #14
now becomes
2018 – The Silver Surfer once more becomes the Herald of Galactus in INFINITY COUNTDOWN #4
Another closed loop.
The only other date I can see is that the Patsy Walker page for 1949 originally began with 1950 in the introducing caption, a sign perhaps of other deck shuffling perhaps…?
