[#SXSW 2018] Cloak and Dagger Red Carpet Interview: EP Jeph Loeb on Finding the Perfect Leads
Cloak and Dagger is looking to approach storytelling from a slightly different angle this time around. Most of the superheroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe are adults, but it's only through this new version of Peter Parker and on Runaways that Marvel has started to look at what happens when kids get powers. Spider-Man and Runaways are both about kids, but they are different tonally and with their genres. Marvel TV Boss and executive producer Jeph Loeb talked to Bleeding Cool on the red carpet of the Cloak and Dagger premiere at South by Southwest (SXSW) 2018 about what they're trying to do with this new series.
It gives you a unique opportunity to not just talk about what it's like to suddenly find yourself with powers and abilities but also at a time when you're trying to figure out who you are. You know, these kids — and they're kids — they're just trying to figure out how to get through school. They haven't even figured out who they are yet.
Watch our full interview with Loeb below as he also talks about finding the perfect leads.
Summary: Two teenagers from very different backgrounds find themselves burdened and awakened to newly acquired superpowers while falling in love.
