Good News: Ronda Rousey, Becky Lynch, and Charlotte Flair Released From Jail
In a bit of good news that must surely have WWE officials sighing with relief, independent contractors Ronda Rousey, Becky Lynch, and Charlotte Flair have been released from police custody after being arrested on last night's episode of Monday Night Raw. All three competitors were caught on camera resisting arrest, assaulting police officers who tried to break up their fight following a tag team victory against The Riott Squad, and even destroying police property, as Rousey kicked out the window of a police car and then hopped into the driver's seat, crashing the vehicle into a second police car.
A felony conviction for assaulting a police officer in Washington DC can result in up to 10 years in jail in a $20,000 fine. However, police have apparently released all three women of their own recognizance, a statement on WWE's website reveals.
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Raw Women's Champion Ronda Rousey, SmackDown Women's Champion Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch have all been released from police custody of their own recognizance and will appear in court at a later date.

That means the trio will be able to compete in their scheduled winner-take-all triple threat match in the main event of WrestleMania Sunday, where one of the three women will walk out as both the Raw and Smackdown Women's Champion. That could be a blessing in disguise for WWE, as that means the champion of both brands could end up serving jail time while holding the title once the women return to court for a trial and sentencing.
At press time, Washington DC police had not responded to inquiries asking whether that one cop with the shaggy haircut was in violation of police dress regulations. We'll keep you updated on this breaking story.
