L'Histoire De L'Association
This year sees the 20th anniversary of avant garde French publisher L'Association.
Originally founded by a group of creators who wanted to do their own stuff free from French comics industry policies, five years ago current L'Association publisher Jean-Christophe Menu managed to alienate almost the other founders, who left the group quite disgruntled.
Basically, an Image Comics where Liefeld stayed and everyone else left.
And now a number of those creators are going to tell how it all went down. In the form of a comic book. It's currently the first on comic megastar Lewis Trondheim's list of projects. Called L'Association, it will be created alongside fellow L'Association founders and creators David B, Killoffer, Stanislas, Joann Sfar, Anne Baraou, and Jean-Yves Duhoo. Publication date is expected in January next year.
