The Last Day Of London's Cartoon Museum in Its Current Location
After over a decade and over fifty exhibitions, yesterday saw the final day of the London Cartoon Museum in its current location on Museum Street. I cycled up to say goodbye to the old gang, and see everything start to come down. The likes of Martin Rowson, Mark Stafford, David Hine and more…
The new London Cartoon Museum will be in Fitzrovia/Noho and the current opening date is 'Spring'.
On the way in…
Some of the signs being sold off to people who are unembarrassed to take them home on the bus, Rian Hughes, you could have had these…
Or even these…
So tempted…
The Steve Bell sign I had to be persuaded by my family not to take home.
Can anyone see the V For Vendetta cover in the far distance?
David Hine making some final purchases…
An aerial goodbye…
And a few cartoonists and their drinks of choice.
And a last look at Rachel Ball's upcoming graphic novel Wolf.
And the work of Willie Rushton, my current inspiration…
I look forward to seeing them in their new home. In the Spring.
