A Comic Show – Middle-Aged Kenobi

Aaron Haaland writes,

Hey Fandom, It's another week of great books. Silver Surfer #1 was super fun. Captain Marvel #1 is the launch of her Alpha Flight. Uncanny X-Men #2 is non-stop action and death. And Deadpool #6's 2099 should have been a foil cover!

DC's Legend of Wonder Woman #1 is a beautifully drawn origin story. Poison Ivy #1 makes Harley the supporting character and give Ivy more depth. Batman #48 is intense, it's all building toward #50 and this one has a lot of build. I spoil nothing, but damn it was good. And the DKIII #2 collector's hardcover is finally here.

Brian Azzarello is back to his hardcore crime noir with American Monster. This tickled my 100 Bullets itch.

And Rick Remender's new Devolution was my favorite of the week. It sidesteps the played out zombies and shows us just what the consequences of us devolving as a species are: cavemen hunting and killing anyone who doesn't smell like piss.
