When Rich Johnston Photo-Bombed Brian K Vaughan
Jake Barlow writes for Bleeding Cool:
On Friday evening, after the second day of NYCC, readers were invited to mingle amongst some of Image Comics' top talent at Stitch Bar a few blocks from Times Square. For just a $10 donation to the Hero Initiative, fans could drink and be merry with the likes of Scott Snyder, Kieron Gillen, Jason Latour, Josh Williamson, Jamie McKelvie, Justin Jordan, Sean Gordon Murphy and a whole bunch of other Image creators. Entry also included a raffle ticket to win one of five prize packs filled with various signed comics and tee-shirts and other sorts of cool swag (SPOILERS: Nobody at Bleeding Cool won *sadface*).
After finding Brian K Vaughan near the bar and chatting to him about how awesome SAGA is, my buddy and I got a photo each with the esteemed creator. It was only on checking the photo afterwards that my friend Robin noticed something mysterious about his photo: a figure lurking in the background. Had we captured footage of a ghost? Were Scott Snyder's Wytches real and had he bought them to the freaking bar? Oh wait…nope, it's just Rich Johnston with a peach of a photo-bomb! I'm sure more than a few people woke up with sore heads after what was a really fun night and a great opportunity to meet your heroes.
