Arrow Season 6: The Season Finale is Not a Series Finale

By this time last season we already knew that Arrow, Supergirl, The Flash, and DC's Legends of Tomorrow were coming back for another season. And while they, plus newcomer Black Lightning, are expected to be renewed again, the word has not come down yet. But it seems like the producers are moving ahead as if they'd gotten the green light already. It was announced that Matt Ryan would be a series regular as John Constantine if there's a season four of Legends, which doesn't seem like something you'd even talk about if it wasn't likely.

EW.com interviewed Marc Guggenheim, one of the creators of the Arrowverse and co-showrunner of Legends and Arrow. They were talking to him about a character's exit, but asked if they were confident that the series that started it all would be back for a seventh turn.

Yeah, we're very, very confident. We're extremely confident. It would be nice to get the formal pick-up, Mark Pedowitz, if you're listening. It would be nice to book directors, is all I'm saying. But we've already started talking about season 7. We actually knew a lot of what we were gonna do for season 7 very early on in season 6. Right now, we're in the process of breaking a season finale that is not a series finale by any means. We're fully expecting it, just haven't gotten it yet.

That all sounds really good… but we still want it made official soon.

Arrow airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET on The CW.
