We might be a member of the rare group of individuals who actually enjoyed aspects of the live-action Ghost in the Shell, mostly due to seeing the larger-than-life story in a big-budget capacity. But let's face it, there's not a high probability we'll be seeing another one of those. However, the kickass anime series via Netflix is still kicking, with the recent and very exciting confirmation that a full-length film compiling the anime's second season is on the way – including extensive new content! So here's what we know about the cinematic release of Ghost in the Shell SAC_2045 The Last Man so far.
New "Ghost in the Shell" Movie Details & First Teaser
The official announcement shares a first look at the film, with a statement that reads, "The main visual is an up-and-coming illustrator who attracts attention from all over the world, drawn by Ilya Kuvshinob, who is responsible for the character design of this work! Motoko Kusanagi, the protagonist of the full-body prosthesis, and Ezaki Pudding, a new member of the Public Security Section 9," adding, "It depicts the main characters such as Takashi Shimamura, a boy of the threat of humanity post-human. Reminiscent of the iconic visuals of Ghost in the Shell of the past, it foreshadows the series' epic climax."
The reveal includes a video with some fun teasers as well, with the caption, "The video continues from the tense scene in which Motoko Kusanagi questions the true meaning of Takashi Shimamura, who is connected to a large amount of code. It depicts the crisis of humanity caused by the raid brought about by the post-human and the epic drama that awaits the Public Security Section 9."
