The Return Of Nova, Sabretooth And Mark Bagley
At the Cup Of Joe panel at the San Diego Comic Con, Marvel announced a new Sabretooth book by Jeph Loeb and Simone Bianchi will be published by Marvel next year, co-starring Wolverine, as Sabretooth gets his head back in the game. Literally.
Then Joe Quesada talked about bringing back one of his favourite characters, Nova, and Point One seems to be the way they'll be doing that.
And Marvel also confirmed a Bleeding Cool story about a new Avengers comic by Bendis and Bagley, Avengers Assemble #1 coming in March 2012.
As one Marvel rep told me when I asked them about this rumour a little while ago, to paraphrase, "Really Rich? A new Avengers comic when the movie will be coming out? Duh!"
Oh also, don't look for a major Shi'Ar Empire appearance soon. One fan pressed rather verbosely in the Q&A that a Shi'Ar Empire invasion of Earth had been set up at length with no payoff.
Dan Buckley rather sweetly stated that the Shi'Ar empire had collapsed over the social and economic fallout of all their fighting enemies elsewhere, and the empire building would have to wait for further economic growth.
