This is the first scene to Spider-Man: Homecoming. If you don't want to know how the movie opens then, because it's pretty funny, then come back another time.

In one of the trailers for Spider-Man: Homecoming we got to see a few scenes from Captain America: Civil War as filmed by Peter Parker (Tom Holland) on his phone. That wasn't just a gimmick for a trailer but that's part of the opening scene of the movie. The first three minutes or so are all part of a v-log that Peter made as he was going to Germany for the airport battle and seeing his new suit for the first time.

It's a great way to start the movie because it shows us who Peter is immediately when we don't really know that much about him. We get to see him interact not only with Happy Hogan ( Jon Favreau) and a little bit of Peter with Tony (Robert Downey Jr.) at the end. The thing that makes the scene really work is how excited Peter clearly is by everything around him. It really helps hammer home that he's a kid in a world dominated by adults who don't really know what to do with him. He's eager, he's hyperactive, and nervous in a way that makes sense considering we now know he has idolized Iron Man for a long time. The scene is also funny and really helps set the tone for the movie we're about to watch.

Summary: Following the events of Captain America: Civil War (2016), Peter Parker attempts to balance his life in high school with his career as the web-slinging superhero Spider-Man.

Spider-Man: Homecoming, directed by Jon Watts, stars Tom Holland, Robert Downey Jr., Marisa Tomei, Donald Glover, Zendaya, Tony Revolori, and Michael Keaton. Swing on down to your local theater and check it out on July 7th.
