Will Kelly Thompson Take Over Brian Michael Bendis on Jessica Jones?

Earlier today, we looked at the gossip coming our way that Ed Brisson was to take over one of Brian Michael Bendis's departed comic books. We dismissed Defenders as it was being cancelled and Jessica Jones, had a certain detail about the upcoming writer leaked by Bendis

"Truth told I was already leaving Jessica after purple, for a Marvel project that is sadly no longer, and had already picked my replacement… she is amazing."

And yes, certain events in the Miles Morales Spider-Man comic this week suggest that going forward without Bendis, it would be a very different comic, with a very different name. So elimination does point towards Iron Man.

But cycling back to Jessica Jones.

After running a reminder of the tease Bendis had already given us, I got the tip-off that unless things had changed (which it doesn't look like they have) the new writer of Jessica Jones would be none other than Kelly Thompson.

Comic book commentator turned novelist and comic book writer, with runs on titles such as Jem and the Holograms, Hawkeye and A-Force, Heart in a Box, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and Mega Princess, with Rogue & Gambit to come. If you were looking for a new Bendis, she probably fits the bill…

More in upcoming solicitations and arranged press releases I am sure. And yes, I will put all these kinds of gossipy bits into a big 2018 checklist on New Year's Day so you can check, through the year, which were wrong.
