Wednesday Runaround: Joe Quesada And Chris Staros Will School You About Comics
StarosReportCardWatch: Along with being president and publisher of Top Shelf Productions, Chris Staros has started teaching a (single) class on Getting Published/Self-Publishing at the Savannah College of Art and Design's Atlanta Campus, as an adjunct professor. He started yesterday.
"Chris has been a long time friend of the university, sharing his insights with
our students over the years and we're extremely fortunate to have him teaching
for us," says Pat Quinn, associate dean of the SCAD communication arts. "Our
sequential art students have yet another opportunity to learn from a well known
industry professional that brings knowledge and experience into the classroom."
SCAD offers more sequential art classes than any other university.
BlurWatch: From an interview with Damon Albarn about his upcoming work.
Alan Moore was originally the driving force behind Doctor Dee but he pulled out claiming nobody else had done any work…
DA: Well, that's…. that's… that's just not true. What you discover is that people's working processes are very different, and maybe at the essence of that was that Alan Moore very much likes to be in control of what he's doing, and this was very much a group workshop thing. Maybe he felt uncomfortable with that, and that's cool. But in my mind there's no ambiguity about the fact that he was the one who inspired me to undertake it.

This is Computo the Comic Link Conqueror speaking. I come for your women. But for now I merely collate comic-related bits and pieces online. One day I will rule. Until that day, read on.
They say I am a work in progress. The fools.

Blog@Newsarama » Blog Archive » Welcome to the 24 Page Comic Era?
What that means, of course, is that the book will now consist of 20 pages of story content, a front cover and 3 ad pages. Recently, there's been a lot of chatter online about the lack of external (that is, non-Marvel-related product) ads in Marvel books, leading me to wonder whether this may be a trial balloon for more (all?) Marvel books in the future.
If you count the number of books solicited by Marvel in February throughout all our lines and compare this with the number of books solicited by DC through their lines, you'll find we actually solicited the same number of books. Despite comments to the contrary by various folks online, there isn't a huge disparity in the numbers of comics Marvel and DC put out each month.
