Unofficial Archer & Armstrong Bootleg Comics Hit Stores From Official Writer Rafer Roberts
Retailers are expecting a new Archer & Armstrong comic from Valiant to arrive in 2016…but this certainly isn't it.
Bleeding Cool has received multiple reports of stores across the US and Canada receiving unmarked envelopes in recent days that all contain same item: a 12-page, zine-style ashcan featuring a very, very unofficial Archer & Armstrong adventure attributed to none other than Rafer Roberts, the upcoming writer of Valiant's A&A: The Adventures of Archer & Armstrong series.
Marked only as A+A: Bootleg and lacking any trademark information or indicia, the black-and-white comic appears to pick up where Roberts' previous "copyright sensitive" works (like his Thanos & Darkseid: Carpool Buddies of Doom strips with writer Justin Jordan), following Valiant's immortal drunkard and his teenage partner as they swap stories about Armstrong's previous adventures in the 80s and 90s…and bump into some folks that seem awfully familiar:
When contacted regarding this story, Valiant had no comment.
