Doomsday Clock and Justice League Battle to Bring Back the Outsiders [Spoilers]

The separation of creative and editorial input between books such as the DC Comics mini-series Justice League: No Justice and DC's Watchmen sequel Doomsday Clock is creating a few parallels, it seems.

We already mentioned how Amanda Waller was doing an Adrian Veidt impersonation in today's Justice League. Well, now it seems that both books are bringing back The Outsiders superhero team simultaneously.

Now, we knew this was on the cards for Batman's old team of superheroes. The new series of Young Justice is called Outsiders. including cast members Katana, Metamorpho, and Nightwing up front, as well as Tigress, Black Lightning, and Superboy. So it makes sense that the comics would join in.

In Scott Snyder's Dark Days: The Forge it was revealed that Batman had been operating The Outsiders as a stealth team of black ops for some time, with Metamorpho. Black Lightning, Katana, Halo and Geoforce.

Bryan Hill is including Black Lightning in his upcoming Detective Comics arc, called 'On The Outside'. Again, being seen as a backdoor pilot into a new Outsiders comic book.

"On the Outside" part one! Duke Thomas. Cassandra Cain. They and other young heroes don't intend to stand down, no matter what Batman thinks is best. Who can Batman trust to guide them? They need a teacher…and Black Lightning fits the bill!

Well, in today's No Justice #4, Black Lightning gets told a thing by Batman.

Which looks like setting up the Detective Comics story — and maybe an Outsiders spinoff series?

But Doomsday Clock #5, set in the near future universe, has some plans of its own — with The Outsiders being at the front of the Supermen Thesis.

Previous issues of Doomsday Clock have shown us Dr. Helga Jace, the Markovian scientist who gave superpowers to Brion Markov, aka Geo-Force, of The Outsiders. And now it is claimed by Killer Frost that Metamorpho and other Outsiders team members such as Lady Clayface got their powers in a similar fashion.

And in today's Doomsday Clock #5, we have a new Outsiders team, led by Prince Markov, Geo-Force, another early member of the team in DC continuity.

Are we going to have… two Outsiders teams? One from the USA, one from Markovia? Battling it out for the future of the DC Universe — with some of the same team members on each team?

Could happen…
