Because today's Local Man #8 written and drawn both by Tim Seeley and Tony Fleecs, and published by Image Comics, continues its dive into the joys of nineties comics, even as it invents a new language – and drags in something from the eighties. Specifically, the metaphysical look at the medium of Grant Morrison and Chas Youg's Animal Man, coupled with the later inventiveness of Keith Giffen's Ambush Bug and John Byrne's She-Hulk to take its lead character somewhere it has never been before.
