Looking Inside The New Red Sonja #1

Dynamite is launching a new Red Sonja series with the creative team of Marguerite Bennett (Bombshells) and Aneke (Legenderry: Red Sonja) to be released on January 13, 2016. In the new series crafted with Gail Simone, Sonja returns to her homeland of Hyrkania, only to find her king near death and her people in the service of a fascist-like regime.

The new series features a character redesign by Nicola Scott, who kept some of the trademark things like the big red hair and chain-mail, but used them in a more utilitarian way.

 

Red Sonja #1 will have a variety of cover including Cover A by Marguerite Sauvage (Bombshells); Cover B by Jay Anacleto (Legends of Red Sonja) which will interconnect with the Cover B editions of Dejah Thoris #1 and Vampirella #1; and Cover C by Tula Lotay (Swords of Sorrow).
