Marvel and Disney Launch Toy Story With A Rather Unfortunate Title
"Master Woody"
Yup.
Anyway, this March, Marvel rolls out their latest Disney/Pixar release with Toy Story, a new four-issue miniseries from writer Tea Orsi and artists Antonello Dalena and Teresa Quezada-Geer.
We knew that Disney would be moving their comics line in-house with the acquisition of Marvel, followed by their termination of their licensing deal with Boom, but it appears that this house is more of a villa. Orsi and Dalena are both Disney veterans, working with Disney Italia on their comic magazines. Orsi has been a regular contributor to Italy's Toy Story magazine, while Dalena has done the majority of his work on Paperinik, the Italian superhero alter ego for Donald Duck. The two have collaborated in the past, having worked on a 12-page Tinker Bell story.
Quezada-Geer's name being in the credits is an interesting one, in that she is a comic neophyte but a long-time animator, having worked on multiple animated features, including Mulan, Tarzan, and Pocahontas. Her only comic credit appears to be one cover for one Disney magazine, but that could easily have been pulled from the animation and not actually been something she did uniquely for comics.
