The Role of American Xenophobia in Next Week's Infinity Wars: Ghost Panther #1

Ah, Infinity Warps. It's a concept so dumb, Marvel almost had no choice but to turn it into a mini-event inside a super-mega-crossover event. The latest Infinity Warp to get a solo book is Ghost Panther, a mashup of Black Panther and Ghost Rider. And a preview of next week's Ghost Panther #1 explains this amalgamation's origins. Playing a role in those origins is the perceived xenophobia of "Middle America," as explained by Jericho Simpson, himself an amalgam of Crash Simpson (?) and Brother Voodoo known as Brother Crash. And it's Brother Crash who advises the Panther that he needs to change his name from T'Challa-Son-Of-T'Chaka-Prince-of-Wakanda to something that won't "terrify Middle America."

And thus, Johnny Blaze is born…
