Will Aquaman Be Sent To Guantanamo? Guns, Patriot Acts And Building Walls In Today's Comics

Have you noticed things are getting rather political right now? A certain Republican National Convention riling everything up?

Spider-Man/Deadpool is probably the only comic scheduling  this on purpose. Running a comic book story about a trip to a political convention back to the seventies. And with a supervillain masquerading as a Presidential political candidate and, in order to discredit him saying the craziest of things….

Notes of incest, being anti-war, building a wall and coming up with fanciful conspiracy theories that they make movies about. Where do they get these ideas?

Whereas in Green Lanterns, one is packing, the other is not. I mean, they both have Green Lantern rings, the most powerful weapon in the known universe if you have the will to use it.

Yeah, I'm really struggling to see what her point is here…
But the real political battle today is happening in the South Atlantic.

Where an act of maritime terrorism is seen in only one way…

They have laws against that kind of thing.

And, yes, Aquaman is arrested under the Patriot Act.

Guantanamo has a bay, right? It's in the name and everything? All he needs is to summon a blue whale or fifty…
