DC Shocker: Justice League Standards At All Time Low; They're Letting Anybody Join Now
Signaling the lowest point in Justice League acceptance standards since they let Guy Gardner be a member, DC Entertainment has launched a new website allowing fans to sign up and join the Justice League. Promising benefits such as early access to exclusive content, sweepstakes, and a timeshare on the League's orbital satellite, membership obtained through DC's new website will even allow new members to go on missions with the league, regardless of whether they've had any real training.
Perhaps most shockingly, the only security checkpoint potential applicants need to pass is a request to check a box indicating that they are "not a robot." There's literally no evidence required to prove non-robotic status. A robot could simply click that link and gain access to exclusive Justice League content immediately, and isn't that just what a robot would do?
There isn't even an email confirmation step. You simply sign up and you're in, just like that.
And in our email, sensitive League secrets, ripe for Russian hackers to exploit:
Really, we could have been anyone. Darkseid. Lex Luthor. Aquaman. There's nothing stopping wholly unqualified applicants from becoming members of the once-prestigious Justice League.
Even despite this shocking lack of security, Justice League standards still aren't as bad as rival superhero team The Avengers, whose most famous member has apparently always been an agent of Hydra.
